I know it turns into a queen, but does it have more power than a regular queen?

No, the new piece does not have more power than a regular similar piece. When the pawn reaches the other side of the board, you have the option of turning it into any piece you like (except for a king, or another pawn). This is called ‘pawn promotion’.
However, the new piece behaves the same way as the type of piece it has become. People often choose the queen because it is the strongest piece, since it has the most options when it comes to ability to move.
when the PAWN- that’s “the little guy”- gets to the end of the board it can be changed into anyanother piece except for the king or another pawn
most people choose the queen becauze it is the most powerful
No, it does everything a regular queen does. By the way, the little guy is called a pawn.
no
It does not necessarily turn into a queen…any piece that has been captured by the opponent may replace the pawn…it could be a queen, a knight, a bishop…but it does not have any extra power.
No but you have 2x the queen’s power than your opponent
it doesn’t turn into a queen persay you can make it any peice you want and no, it will have the same “powers” as the regular peice
THE LITTLE PIECE CAN”T MAKE IT TO THE END BECAUSE IT BEGINS on the second row!!
To clear up a possible point of confusion, a pawn which reaches the 8th rank (‘other end of the board’) can become a Queen, Rook, Bishop or Knight of your own color…
But… you are NOT limited to merely replacing a piece that was previously captured. It can become a Queen, even if you still have your original Queen…same with becoming a Rook, Bishop or Knight. So you can have two (or more) Queens on the board, three or more Rooks, Bishops or Knights, etc…
It’s theoretically possible to have up to NINE Queens of one color on the board at the same time, IF you can get all eight of your pawns to the last row (rank), and still manage to avoid the capture of your original Queen.
It dosent actually have to turn to a queen, u can change it for any of the pieces that have been killed from u
it has the same power of a queen .
Yes It Turns In To A Queen But It Dose Not Have More Power
actually you can choose which piece you want to get back. most people choose the queen because she is the most ‘powerful’.
They become Queens.
