In a very unusual way…..a song from the 1982 Broadway musical NINE which Barbra Streisand included in the 2006 LIVE IN CONCERT tour. Over the years, when asked about her high school years at Erasmus Hall High School on Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, Barbra has stated that she was friendly with Chess maven Bobby Fischer, already a champion at 15. and “that she had a crush on him”. Barbra graduated from Erasmus hall High School in January 1959, so we can assume she was a friend of Bobby Fischer around 1957-1958. Bobby Fischer attended Erasmus Hall High School together with Barbra Streisand, though he later dropped out in 1959 when he turned 16. Many teachers remembered him as difficult. When his chess feats mounted, the student council of Erasmus Hall awarded him a gold medal for his chess achievements.” NINE ( Broadway Musical) This song was used in the scene between Guido Contini and Claudia.
